Compaction control tests
Once earthworks are completed, the quality of compaction must be checked before building on it. Control tests verify that the platform reaches the contractual characteristics (bearing capacity, density, homogeneity) and allow the successive layers to be accepted.
Two main families: bearing tests (LCPC plate, Westergaard, Dynaplaque) and density tests (gamma densimeter, sand, balloon). The PANDA is also used for spot checks.
